At Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, referring your patient with cancer is easy and we make every effort to get your patient into see a physician as quickly as possible.

Your Partner in Cancer Care

Your patients trust you to recommend the right choices for their care. When you refer your patients to us, we will partner with you to recommend the best path forward for them.

As Georgia’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, we are uniquely positioned to offer sub-specialized oncology expertise and the most advanced diagnostics, cancer treatments and clinical trials available today.

Our appointment center representatives can assist you and your patients with the following services:

  • Finding the right physician for referrals
  • Locating a Winship clinic and center for disease-specific programs
  • Planning your patient's first visit
  • Discussing financial coverage
  • Obtaining patient and family resource information
  • Exploring open clinical trials
  • Learning about nurse navigation, support groups, spiritual health, and survivorship

Make a Referral

We recognize the complexities and challenges involved in navigating cancer care, both for patients and their referring physicians. Our approach is to work closely with you to understand each patient’s situation and needs, ensuring a coordinated care plan. We also schedule specialist appointments as quickly as possible.

Clinical Trials at Winship

Clinical trials provide patients more, and in some cases better, treatment options and the opportunity to help advance medicine. Winship is developing and leading novel clinical trials, many that are not available elsewhere. Our physicians make every effort to match patients with a clinical trial that targets their unique cancer.

Direct Access for Physicians

Hoping to connect directly with a Winship physician? The WinshipMD physician directory app is a web-based mobile application exclusively for physicians and advanced practice providers to search and find a Winship physician by name, location or treatment specialty and gain access to direct contact information. The app serves as an added communication tool for second opinions and patient referrals.
