Head and Neck Cancer Diagnosis at Emory Winship

There are no proven screening methods for head and neck cancers. Early recognition of signs and symptoms is important for a quick diagnosis and treatment plan. Diagnosis and staging methods include physical examination, computed tomography (CT), and/or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Head and neck cancers are staged using the American Joint Committee on Cancer guidelines and vary according to the primary site.
