Biography

Cletus A. Arciero, MD, FACS, is a professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology of the Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Arciero is a breast surgeon for the Surgical Oncology Division within Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, practicing at both Emory Johns Creek Hospital and Emory University Hospital. Dr. Arciero serves as the program director of the Emory Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program.

A decorated U.S. Army Colonel, Dr. Arciero joined Emory after serving as chief of general surgery and surgical oncology, as well as the director of the General Surgery Residency Program, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He also served as chief of surgery in Kuwait with the 452nd Combat Support Hospital, and twice in Iraq with the 31st Combat Support Hospital and 256th Combat Support Hospital, respectively. He recently completed nine years as an American Cancer Society Commission on Cancer Liaison Physician.

This is my second breast cancer in 6 1/2 years. I couldn't have been treated with more consideration and professional care than Emory. It reinforced that a second opinion was the right choice for me.
