Jinbing Bai, PhD, MSN, RN, is an associate professor with tenure at Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University. Dr. Bai is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute. His research program focuses on cancer treatment-related symptoms, patient-reported outcomes and omics mechanisms (e.g., microbiome and metabolome) of symptom toxicities in cancer care. He has led multiple projects focusing the microbiome-gut-brain axis in patients during active treatments (e.g., chemotherapy and radiotherapy).
Education
Dr. Bai received his PhD in oncology nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his postdoctoral training under the mentorship of Dr. Deborah W. Bruner at Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University.

Research
Dr. Bai's research focuses on biopsychosocial mechanisms of cancer symptoms, particularly psychoneurological symptoms, in pediatric patients with cancer. He is trained to study gut microbiome, gut-brain axis, and parent-child interactions during cancer treatment. He has expertise in gut microbiome data analysis, longitudinal analysis, and instrument development and psychometric testing.
