Research
Dr. DeRyckere's research focuses on the TAM-family of tyrosine kinases and their roles in tumorigenesis. More specifically, she has been working to validate MerTK as a therapeutic target in a variety of cancers and to develop novel biologic and small molecule MerTK and/or Axl inhibitors with the end goal of clinical application in patients with leukemia, non-small cell lung cancer, melanoma, or glioblastoma. More recently, she has focused on the role of MerTK in the immune system where it functions to suppress anti-tumor immunity.
