Background
A colorectal surgeon, Dr. Devin’s clinical focus involves malignant and benign diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus, including colon, rectal and anal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, rectal prolapse, pelvic floor disorders, and anorectal disorders, with an interest in minimally invasive robotic approaches to colon and rectal surgery. She has been practicing with Emory Healthcare since 2023.
Dr. Devin served in the United State Peace Corps for two years prior to obtaining her MS from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and her MD from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed her general surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and her colorectal surgery fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Devin's research focuses on measuring and improving the quality of surgical care.

My visit with Dr Devin was pleasure. She quickly established a friendly, comfortable rapport with me. She critically reviewed notes from my encounter with another doctor several years ago (who is no longer with Emory Healthcare) and presented me with with options for the next steps and explained the risks and benefits of each. She was patient and took time to explain everything thoroughly and answer all of my questions. Nothing was imposed on me; after she explained the options, we had a meaningful discussion about the best course of action and collaboratively reached a decision.She was efficient with entering notes into the system, but when we were in conversation, she listened actively, with eye contact, looking at me, not her computer screen.She was not wasting time, but I never felt rushed, and the visit was not over until all of my questions and concerns were addressed.Although I did not need any further care or procedure this time, I would feel highly confident and comfortable with Dr Devin if I need care in the future. |
