Edgar Gelover-Reyes, PhD, DABR, is an assistant professor and medical physicist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Gelover-Reyes is a member of the Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Education
Dr. Gelover-Reyes earned his PhD in medical physics and his Master of Science in medical imaging from University College London in the United Kingdom. He completed his postdoctoral training in proton therapy physics and his medical physics residency at the University of Iowa. He then completed his fellowship in proton therapy physics at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Gelover-Reyes' research focuses on the impact of variable proton relative biological effectiveness on normal tissue toxicity using Monte Carlo methods, as well as the development of mitigation strategies to reduce biological hot-spots in critical structures.
