Biography
Dae-Hee Han, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Behavioral, Social and Health Education Sciences at the Rollins School of Public Health. Dr. Han is a behavioral epidemiologist with expertise in examining the behavioral and health-related consequences of substance use—including tobacco use—among vulnerable populations such as adolescents and young adults.
Education
Dr. Han earned his PhD in health behavior from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and holds a Master of Science in applied economics from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Before joining Emory, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California.

Research
Dr. Han’s research focuses on the behavioral analysis of tobacco use among young populations. His expertise and interests in this field are twofold:
- He applies a perspective aligned with the evolving drug marketplace and policy landscape, aiming to understand the determinants of emerging substance use in youth to inform prevention and regulatory strategies.
- He employs modern methodologies to enhance the ability to address key research questions effectively.
Dr. Han has extensive experience working in multidisciplinary environments and applying advanced methodological approaches to bridge individual-level behavioral studies of substance use with state-level policy and program analysis.
