Peter Kahng, MD, is a fellowship-trained head and neck microvascular surgeon who specializes in head and neck oncology and reconstructive surgery. He treats patients with benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck, including cancers of the oral cavity, throat, voice box, salivary glands, thyroid and skin. He earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School and completed a residency in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at the University of Michigan. He then completed a fellowship in advanced head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Kahng’s research focuses on improving surgical and reconstructive outcomes for patients with head and neck cancer. His work includes objective assessment of free flap reconstruction, donor-site color matching, tissue thickness matching, speech outcomes after oral cavity reconstruction, and the application of artificial intelligence to evaluate patient outcomes.
