Namita Khanna, MD, MSPH, is a gynecologic oncologist who sees patients at Emory Clinic. She specializes in gynecologic oncology, treating ovarian, uterine, vaginal, vulvar and cervical cancers, as well as other gynecologic malignancies.
Dr. Khanna believes it’s vital that women have an opportunity to receive care from other women in specialties once dominated by males. She says a more diverse physician population makes it easier to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
Dr. Khanna stresses the importance and value of screening tests, such as Pap smears and HPV tests, to all women. They are simple procedures that can find cancer early when it is most treatable. In some cases, the tests may even help prevent cancer from developing. If you are diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Khanna is proud to offer the highest level of cancer care through the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. The Center is one of just 72 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the U.S. It offers compassionate, coordinated care to women with all types of gynecologic cancer, including the latest clinical trials.

Dr. Khanna is truly an exceptional physician. At my last visit, we talked about my upcoming surgery. I had come prepared with a list of questions but she explained everything so clearly that most of my concerns were answered before I even had to ask. She was straightforward about risks, outcomes and future treatments which I really appreciated. When my family asked her some tough questions, she did not take it personal instead she answered them with patience and compassion. |

Dr Khana was very nice and apologetic about the situation. She tried to find out why the clinical trial opening was not currently available to me like I had been told. Not sure why the Dr in charge of the trial had no information to pass along or to inform me of delays. |

I had a long list of questions prepared in advance. I had sent them to the doctor via the portal ahead of time as well. However, I don't think she looked at them before our appointment. While she answered my questions, I got the feeling that she thought some of the questions were a little silly or unimportant. But, they were important to me! |
