Background

Dr. Klein joined the Emory Voice Center in July of 2005 and is the current Chief of the Division of Laryngology. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. He then pursued a fellowship in laryngology and care of the professional voice at the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Laryngeal Surgery and Voice Restoration, at Harvard University.

He is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, the American Broncho-Esophagological Association, the Triological Society and the American Laryngological Association. Dr.

Klein's clinical specialties include the treatment of laryngeal disorders and the professional voice. His research interests include vocal cord reanimation, laryngeal papillomatosis and designing medical devices. He has over 60 peer-reviewed publications and is an invited speaker nationally and internationally.

Dr. Klein greeted me as he walked in, friendly, and seemed genuinely concerned about my issue. We talked in depth about past efforts, doctors, and medications that have tried to address my cough without success. After that discussion, Dr. Klein walked over to a chair and sat quietly as he considered my best course of treatment. (I loved when he did that - made so much sense!). We then proposed a new course of treatment that he thought would be beneficial to try. He explained things so clearly, answered my many questions very patiently, and it goes without saying that he really knows his stuff. He was kind and caring. I wish all doctor appointments could be like my appt with Dr Klein on Tuesday. I came of the room feeling very good about our discussion and pursuing the plan Dr. Klein had proposed. Thank you!

Was very gentle when she knew I had a previously bad experience at another medical facility with tube going down my nose and into my throat. She kept checking to make sure I was OK and right up front complied to my request to use a pediatric tube. Dr. Klein was friendly, polite, professional, and happy to answer my questions & to allow me to record instructions or answers I thought I might not remember completely. That was very helpful.
