Background
Beryl Manning-Geist, MD, is an assistant professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Manning-Geist specializes in treating patients with gynecologic cancers including uterine, ovarian and cervical cancers. She practices at Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown.
After working at the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute, Dr. Manning-Geist attended Emory University School of Medicine on a full scholarship as a Woodruff Scholar. There, she received her MD summa cum laude before completing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Harvard University’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She then completed her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Professional Memberships
Dr. Manning-Geist holds professional memberships with the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), where she serves on the Clinical Practice Committee. She is on the editorial board of the SGO’s journal, Gynecologic Oncology. She also serves on the International Consortium for Low-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer and the National Research Group’s Rare Tumor Subcommittee. She was selected as an inaugural fellow in the SGO’s selective clinical trialist training program, BRIDGES.
Research
An active clinical investigator, Dr. Manning-Geist’s research interests include targeted therapies, immunotherapy and the surgical management of gynecologic malignancies.

Dr. Manning-Geist has authored several book chapters and more than 50 scientific publications in high-impact journals including Nature Medicine, Cancer and Clinical Cancer Research. She regularly presents her research at national and international conferences and has several funded investigator-initiated trials.
Awards
Dr. Manning-Geist is the recipient of the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Merit Award in uterine cancer for her work in circulating tumor DNA, the SGO’s Young Investigator Award, the Resident as Teacher Award from Harvard medical students at Massachusetts General Hospital, and the prestigious Michael Burt Award at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, which is granted to one graduating surgical fellow with superior clinical and operative skills.
