Biography

Jordan Gilleland Marchak, PhD, ABPP, is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Marchak is a behavioral scientist at Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Marchak is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute.

Education

Dr. Marchak received her PhD in Psychology from University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. She completed her residency in clinical psychology at Medical College of Georgia and Department of Veteran's Affairs Medical Center and her postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Dr. Marchak co-chairs the Society of Pediatric Psychology's Hematology/Oncology/BMT Special Interest Group and the Psychosocial Guidelines Working Group for the International Late Effects of Childhood Cancer Guideline Harmonization Group. She serves on the Children’s Oncology Group Supportive Care Committee and the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study Psychology Steering Committee.

Research

Dr. Marchak has built a program of clinical research focused on pediatric cancer survivors' health care self-management, healthy lifestyle behaviors and readiness for transition to adult centered care.

Dr. Marchak has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Pediatric Psychology.
