Cassie S. Mitchell, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech School of Engineering and Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Mitchell is a biomedical engineer who specializes in predictive medicine using data analytics, computational modeling and engineering methods.
Dr. Mitchell is a member of the Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Education
Dr. Mitchell graduated with her doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering with an emphasis in Neuroengineering from Georgia Tech and Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Titles & Roles
Assistant Professor, Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering

Research
Dr. Mitchell is interested in developing models and tools that identify etiology, develop new treatments and optimize current patient care. While her early career, training and publications have mostly focused on predictive medicine in neuropathology, she is eager to grow her research and novel analytical techniques and is actively performing preliminary projects in cancer in collaboration with Winship investigators. She is especially interested in applying "big data" towards cancer research as it relates to predictive personalized medicine, adverse event reporting, and treatment protocol and clinical trial development.
