Ms. Martha Ryan is absolutely wonderful. She has been on my care since the beginning. She is kind, patient, thoughtful and very professional. She is honest about things outside of the cancer treatment and does not venture into trying to explain problems unrelated to the cancer treatment. She is extremely responsive in answering my questions. She has been wonderful to me and my family. I.hope that you let her know what a value she is at Emory Hospital.

I just felt like I was just pushed on an antibiotic again to address the issue instead of getting down to the root problem of why I keep contracting strep throat so much. This was my 4th occurrence in 4 months. I don't like taking antibiotic to just cover this issue, I want to heal my body so I don't keep getting this illness. I tried to ask if there was a way to going around the Paradise criteria to have my tonsils removed, because I'm not comfortable continually taking these antibiotics. But I was basically told no because insurance wouldn't cover it. Having worked in the medical field previously, know that there a loopholes to things. I just would have liked more options than another round of medication.

Martha Ryan is unquestionably a GREAT provider. Personable, intelligent, compassionate. She listens well and always treats me with empathy and respect. She has been my caregiver for more than a decade now, and while I hope never to see her in a medical setting again (completed 5 years of cancer follow-up on this visit), I definitely hope to see her out in the community. She is simply the best provider I've seen in decades.

Martha Ryan is an exceptional care provider. However, I was in agreement to let a trainee try to perform my endoscope. It was a bad experience, and though I know training is needed, I would not agree to it on me anymore. Martha took over when it was apparent I was in distress from the procedure and it went smoothly after that.

It was great to be taken seriously over what may end up being a minor concern (pharyngitis), and to have a plan to move forward if I get sick again. I appreciated the measured concern and the honest appraisal. Loved getting to see the camera move through my nose and throat!
