Celine R. Soriano, MD, is an assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Colorectal Surgery of the Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. She received her MD degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. She is a board-certified general surgeon and completed her general surgery residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. She completed her colorectal fellowship at Emory University.
Dr. Soriano's clinical focus involves benign and malignant diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus. Her clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, rectal prolapse, anorectal disorders, including anal fissure, fistula and hemorrhoids, and colon, rectal and anal cancer. She has a strong interest in minimally invasive robotic approaches to colon and rectal surgery. Dr. Soriano works very closely with other specialists, such as gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists and urogynecologists, to plan the best course of treatment for each patient. She treats with compassion and strives to ensure that her patients feel well cared for and listened to.
Dr. Soriano is an active contributor to national surgical societies and active in the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Association of Women Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. Her research efforts are focused on clinical investigations that improve the quality of care and outcomes for patients with colorectal disease and she is passionate about surgical education.
