Biography
Sara Turbow, MD, MPH, is an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. She holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, Division of Preventive Medicine, where she serves as program director for the Public Health and General Preventive Medicine Residency Program. She also practices as a primary care physician at the Grady Primary Care Center.
Education
Dr. Turbow earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory. She completed both her internal medicine residency and preventive medicine residency at Emory.

Research
Dr. Turbow is committed to using health services research to improve patient care, U.S. healthcare delivery and health outcomes for older adults. Her recent work focuses on improving healthcare use and quality for older adults with chronic disease. Her long-term goal is to develop sustainable, scientifically rigorous, multi-site interventions to evaluate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of strategies that reduce information fragmentation — particularly as it affects older adults and people living with dementia — and to use technology to help reduce health disparities.
