Rick D. Vavolizza, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained breast surgeon who specializes in treating patients with breast cancer and breast abnormalities. He is an attending physician at Emory University Hospital and Emory Decatur Hospital and works closely with the multidisciplinary breast cancer team at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Dr. Vavolizza is an assistant professor in the Division of Breast Surgery within the Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, where he also completed his general surgery residency and served as a T32 surgical oncology research fellow. Dr. Vavolizza completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
