Biography

Rami Yacoub, MD, MPH, is an assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Rollins School of Public Health. Dr. Yacoub is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute.

Education

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Tishreen School of Medicine in Latakia, Syria, he completed postdoctoral research training at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York, and a second postdoc with the Department of Hematology and Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine.

Research

Dr. Yacoub has a broad background in population-based cancer research with specific training and expertise in survey research and secondary data analysis. His research focuses on uncovering the social, biological factors and tumor-related features including molecular, genetic and tumor biomarkers that predict cancer risk.
