Our cancer survivors inspire us every day at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Fighting cancer takes courage and they exhibit what it takes to survive time and time again.
Tamara Mobley is a young mother of two energetic boys, a wife, a full-time professional…and a multiple myeloma patient. She was diagnosed in 2009 and advised to go directly to the myeloma specialists at Winship Cancer Institute. Dr. Sagar Lonial has seen her through the course of several therapies, including an autologous stem cell transplant and a Phase I clinical trial, and says she's benefited from research advances made right here at Winship. Since this video was made, Tamara finished the Phase I treatment and her myeloma is being watched and kept in check with maintenance therapies.
More interviews with Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University patients sharing their stories of determination, hope, perseverance, and survival can be viewed on our companion educational site, CancerQuest. We hope you will be inspired by their stories as much as we are.
