A colonoscopy revealed that Jesse Hampton Jr., had colorectal cancer, the same disease that affected his mom and several members of his family. Hampton's search for a second opinion led him to Winship. He says it saved his life.

Winship medical oncologist Sarah C. Friend, MD, has been named the new associate medical director of ambulatory infusion centers for Winship at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Emory Johns Creek Hospital.
Tarrant McPherson, PhD, MA, has joined the Winship Biostatistics Shared Resource, which provides statistical consultation and collaboration on research design, conduct, analysis and interpretation. McPherson specializes in power and sample size calculation, linear mixed models and longitudinal data analysis, measures of inter-rater reliability, analysis of time-to-event data and design of clinical trials for rare diseases.
