Course Overview
The  Annual Glenn Family Breast Center Research Symposium: Treatment Resistant Breast Cancer Conference provides an intimate learning environment in which the most current advances in treatment resistant breast cancer will be explored. Nationally recognized speakers will review research, clinical experiences, and provide updates on current research.

Target Audience
This live activity is designed for medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other healthcare providers involved with or interested in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of breast cancer.

Educational Objectives
 Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Employ best practices regarding the treatment of young patients with breast cancer to improve long-term patient outcome
  • Apply optimal approaches regarding management of axillary lymph nodes and use of radiation therapy in patients with breast cancer following pre-operative therapy
  • Identify optimal strategies for disease prevention in patients at high risk for development of breast cancer
  • Integrate novel therapeutic agents such as targeted therapies into the management of patients with breast cancer based on recent clinical trial data
  • Describe the current understanding of classification of triple-negative breast cancer and how this impacts treatment decisions
  • Discuss recent advances in breast cancer tumor biology, including signaling pathways involved in disease progression and resistance to targeted therapy
  • Employ effective treatment strategies for the management of patients with breast cancer and brain metastases
