Ikseon Choi, PhD, is a professor and assistant dean of education systems science at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University. Before joining Emory, he was a professor of learning, design and technology at the University of Georgia’s Mary Frances Early College of Education, where he led the SAVE (Situation-based Authentic Virtual Environments) Research Group, formerly known as the Case-based e-Learning Research Group. He also was a founding director of an interdisciplinary research lab, Research and Innovation in Learning (RAIL).
Dr. Choi is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Education
Dr. Choi earned his PhD in instructional systems from Pennsylvania State University and holds a master’s degree in educational psychology from Chung-Ang University in South Korea.

Research
Dr. Choi's recent interdisciplinary research at Emory focuses on integrating learning science, data science and advanced technologies, such as virtual reality, simulation, machine learning and biosensing, into developing, implementing and evaluating cost-effective innovations that enhance human learning, performance and well-being. In cancer research, he is collaborating to develop AI-integrated educational solutions to prevent HPV as part of a cancer prevention program.
