Victor Corces, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Human Genetics at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Corces is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University and the HERCULES Exposome Research Center in the Rollins School of Public Health.
Dr. Corces received his PhD from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in Madrid, Spain.
The cancer-related research in Dr. Corces's laboratory is studying the mechanisms by which the three-dimensional organization of the chromatin is established and maintained. The transcriptional repressor CTCF and cohesin proteins involved in these processes are often mutated in leukemia and other cancers.
