Hananeh Fonoudi, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics and the Children’s Heart Research and Outcomes Center at Emory University School of Medicine. She is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Education
Dr. Fonoudi earned her doctorate from the University of New South Wales and the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in Australia. She received her master’s degree from the University of Tehran in Iran and completed her postdoctoral research at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Fonoudi's research focuses on the application of organoids, 3D-bioprinted constructs and hiPSC-based systems to model complex cardiovascular disorders and chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity. This program builds on her background in human genetics, developmental biology and extensive experience in stem cell–based cardiovascular disease modeling.
