Dr. Jarrell earned a Doctor of Philosophy in reproductive physiology and a Master of Arts in Teaching in science education from the University of Georgia. He completed postdoctoral training in systems biology at Emory University.

Dr. Jarrell’s research focuses on trace metal homeostasis, using metabolomics and systems biology to investigate how diet and environmental exposures influence metal interactions and their role in health and disease.
