Biography
Charoan Li, PhD, MSc, is an assistant professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Emory University. Dr. Li is a member of the Cancer Immunology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute.
Education
Dr. Li received his PhD in Immunology from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He completed his postdoctoral training in Immunology at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusets.

Research
Dr. Li's research interest lies at the interface of tissue immunology, immunometabolism and cancer immunology. it has been increasingly appreciated that non-lymphoid tissues host a variety of immune cell populations with unique characteristics that play important roles in tissue homeostasis, organismal metabolism and cancer. The overall goal of his research program is to combine cutting-edge mouse genetics, "-omics" approaches, and CRISPR/Cas9-based in vivo screening to dissect the environmental triggers and molecular mechanisms that control homeostasis of tissue immune cells, particularly regulatory T cells (Tregs) in the skin and adipose tissue at steady state, during obesity or upon cancer development.
