Dr. Osunkoya has served on the editorial boards of the academic journals Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Pathology, Human Pathology, and International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Pathology. He has also served on the abstract review board of the College of American Pathologists, on the Education Committee of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and as Chair of the Excellence in Urological Pathology Resident and Fellow Research Award Committee of the International Society of Urological Pathology.
Dr. Osunkoya is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the College of American Pathologists, and the International Society of Urological Pathology.
Dr. Osunkoya's research interests include the fields of genitourinary and urologic pathology, specifically tumors of the prostate, urinary bladder, kidneys, and testis.
Publications
Dr. Osunkoya has been published over 200 times in a variety of academic journals including the Modern Pathology, Human Pathology, American Journal of Surgical Pathology, Pathology, and Urology. He has also authored or co-authored 25 book chapters and has a plethora of other publications.
Dr. Osunkoya has been named to the MilliPub Club, which recognizes current Emory University School of Medicine faculty who have published one or more individual papers throughout their careers that have garnered more than 1,000 citations.
Dr. Osunkoya has received numerous awards including the prestigious Benjamin Castleman Award from the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Resident Education from the Department of Pathology of Emory University School of Medicine, and the Young Investigator Award in Clinical Research from the Department of Pathology of The Johns Hopkins Hospital. As chief resident at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences center, Dr. Osunkoya received the Perry Lambird Award for Outstanding Resident in Clinical Pathology, the Parker-Heartland Award for Outstanding Resident in Anatomic Pathology, and the Nancy K. Hall Award for Most Outstanding First Year Resident from the Department of Pathology. Dr. Osunkoya has also been named a Donald West King Fellow of the Gastrointestinal Pathology Division of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and was an invited speaker for the 20th Anniversary of the International Society of Urological Pathology in Vancouver in 2012.
Dr. Osunkoya also received the prestigious Arthur Purdy Stout Prize, one of the top honors in surgical pathology in North America.
