Christopher C. Porter, MD, is a professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Porter is the inaugural Paul S. Amos Chair and also serves as the director of the Cancer Predisposition Clinic at the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. He is board certified in pediatric hematology/oncology. Prior to his arrival at Emory, he was on the faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Dr. Porter is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute. In 2017, he was selected for the Emory Medicine Professional Leadership Enrichment and Development Program.
Education
Dr. Porter earned his MD from Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta, Georgia. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his post-doctoral training with fellowships in pediatric hematology/oncology and in biochemistry and molecular genetics, both at University of Colorado School of Medicine.
