Andrey P. Tikunov, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. He is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Education
Tikunov earned his doctorate in biophysics from the Hematology Research Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences in Moscow. He holds a master’s degree in biophysics from Moscow State University and completed his postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Research
Dr. Tikunov’s research uses mouse models of pediatric brain tumors, specifically medulloblastoma, to study genetic modifications and inhibitors that affect pathways crucial for tumor development. His work simultaneously examines changes in the metabolome, transcriptome and fluxome across multiple levels, from single cells to whole organs.
