Biography

Jason T. Yustein, MD, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Pediatrics and serves as director of the Medical Scientist Training Program at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Yustein is a pediatric oncologist and physician-scientist at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Dr. Yustein is a member of the Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Research Program at Winship.

Education

Dr. Yustein earned his MD and his PhD in molecular biology and microbiology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his residency in pediatrics and his clinical fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Research

Dr. Yustein's laboratory is dedicated towards integrating innovative murine models and patient-derived resources with molecular approaches and functional genomic studies geared towards understanding molecular insights into sarcoma initiation, development, therapeutic resistance, and metastatic progression and translating these findings towards testing novel therapeutic interventions.

Dr. Yustein’s research has received grant funding from the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, institutional sources, and several private foundations.
