A National Cancer Institute Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) grant fosters collaborative, interdisciplinary translational cancer research among an elite team of investigators. Its aim is to develop novel approaches not only for treating cancer but also for enhancing patient outcomes.

Winship's Lung Cancer SPORE

In 2019, Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University earned a competitive SPORE grant to support team-driven innovative research efforts in immunotherapies and molecularly targeted therapies. The SPORE brings together investigators in the fields of immunology, pharmacology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology and pathology to address major therapeutic challenges faced by patients with non-small cell lung cancer.
