Rebecca S. Arnold, PhD, MS, is an assistant professor of urology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Arnold is a member of the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute. She currently directs the work of research specialists and medical students during the School of Medicine-sponsored Discovery Project in Dr. Petros' lab in addition to performing her own independent research. She is active in publishing and grant writing to support the Department's research mission.
Education
Dr. Arnold earned her PhD from Indiana University at Bloomington. She completed postdoctoral studies at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, followed by postdoctoral studies at Emory University before joining the faculty.

Research
Dr. Arnold's research interests include prostate and kidney cancers and focus on reactive oxygen and nitrogen species and mitochondrial genetics. In addition, she is an integral member of the Emory Urology research team working on a test to screen and detect kidney cancer.
