Gideon T. Dosunmu, MBBS, MPH, is a medical oncologist who specializes in treating gastrointestinal cancer. Dr. Dosunmu joined the clinical staff at Winship Cancer Institute as an attending physician in 2025. His practice is based at Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown and Grady Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Dosunmu is an assistant professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine.
He earned his medical degree from Oba Okunade Sijuade College of Health Sciences at Igbinedion University in Nigeria and received his MPH from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of South Alabama in Mobile and his hematology and oncology fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Dr. Dosunmu’s research focuses on cancer risk and prevention, germline testing and biomarker development in early-onset gastrointestinal cancers. His work aims to improve risk identification and expand the use of precision oncology tools in routine care. He also has research experience in genetics and early cancer detection.
Patients who are treated in outpatient and inpatient environments are eligible to receive a survey related to their individual care. Displayed ratings and reviews are displayed for Providers who have received at least 30 returned surveys over a 12-month period and are related to all Care Provider related survey questions.
