Lymphedema Clinic

Lymphedema is an abnormal accumulation of fluid within the body which causes swelling. A healthy lymphatic system returns excess fluid from the tissues back into the circulatory system. However, when the lymphatic system has been damaged it may no longer be able to transport the fluid adequately. Damage to the lymphatic system is sometimes an unfortunate side-effect of cancer treatments such as surgery or radiation. At the Winship Lymphedema Clinic we can assist with treatment and management of  lymphedema as well as provide education to reduce your risk of developing lymphedema.

Stephanie Kirkpatrick, PT, DPT, CLT-LANA, certified lymphedema therapist, received her master's in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and  received her doctorate of physical therapy from the University of South Alabama.  She received lymphedema training and certification through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies and has additional certification through the Lymphology Association of North America.
