Dr. Alese has several awards including the American Society of Clinical Oncology International Development and Education Award (IDEA), and ECOG Foundation/Paul Carbone, MD Fellowship award. A previous German Academic Exchange Service scholar, his additional distinctions and awards include University of Ibadan Skilled Hands Award, UICC International Cancer Technology Transfer Fellowship, European Society for Medical Oncology TRU Visit Grant, and 2014 ASCO Merit Award.
