Winship Invest$ Pilot Grants

Winship Invest$ is a peer-reviewed program that provides pilot funding twice annually for novel, innovative cancer research projects.

Overview

With two funding opportunities a year, the Winship Invest$ program enables Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University investigators to obtain preliminary data and results for publication and for subsequent peer-reviewed funding applications.

Successful applications are supported by philanthropic contributions to Winship and by developmental funds from Winship’s NCI Cancer Center Support Grant.

The current cycle seeks applications in the following research domains:

  • Early detection, risk reduction and prevention
  • Team science research
  • Precision immunotherapy
  • Promoting cancer health equity and reducing cancer disparities
  • Breast cancer

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria include the following:

  • Pilot projects will be awarded to active Winship members.
  • Proposals with a budget of up to $50,000 for one year may be considered for Winship Invest$ (unless otherwise stated for specific research domains).
  • Investigators may submit only one Winship Invest$ proposal per funding cycle.
  • Salary support for the principal investigator is not allowed except for junior faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor and below.

  • RFP Announcement: Wednesday, July 10, 2024
  • Letter of Intent Receipt Date: Friday, August 16, 2024
  • Application Receipt Date: Monday, September 30, 2024
  • Anticipated Start Date: December 1, 2024
