Faculty, clinicians and fellows from Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University will lead sessions and present important new findings at the 48th San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) in San Antonio, Dec. 9-12, 2025.
As the world’s largest breast cancer research conference, SABCS is expected to draw more than 10,000 attendees from over 102 countries. The annual gathering is a key forum for communicating the latest breakthroughs poised to shape the global landscape of breast cancer care.
“Each year, we look forward to SABCS and the opportunity to share with our peers and learn about exciting advances in the field,” says Kevin Kalinsky, MD, MS, FASCO, co-director of Winship’s Glenn Family Breast Center, the Louisa and Rand Glenn Family Chair in Breast Cancer Research and professor of hematology and medical oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. “Winship’s contributions to SABCS 2025 underscore our commitment to addressing some of the most pressing challenges in breast cancer.”
Over the four-day meeting, Winship breast cancer specialists will participate in 22 presentations, serving as session chairs, invited speakers, and oral and poster presenters. The new research to be presented spans a wide scientific spectrum, including predictive tools, biomarkers and molecular testing to support individualized treatment planning; novel strategies to mitigate risk factors, improve outcomes and tailor survivorship resources; and clinical trials evaluating innovative therapeutic approaches.
“This year’s Winship presenters represent a range of departments and specialties — including medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, pathology and epidemiology — highlighting our multidisciplinary depth and collaborative culture,” says Tari A. King, MD, FACS, FSSO, FASCO, chief surgical officer for Winship and Emory Healthcare, professor and chief of the Division of Breast Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine, and co-director of the Glenn Family Breast Center. “I’m proud of our team for leading the way in discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat breast cancer and to help our patients live full, healthy lives after treatment."
