The annual Winship Scientific Symposium seeks to highlight the outstanding research of Winship investigators, deepen our understanding of important topics and provide opportunities to cultivate collaboration. The 2023 symposium, organized around the theme Where Science Becomes Hope, will be held on the Emory campus on Wednesday, December 6. Register here.

  • Keynote talk by cancer immunology pioneer Carl June, MD, from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine
  • Faculty presentations on emerging topics that span basic and translational science; patient experience and clinical care; and public health, survivorship and community outreach
  • Poster competition and reception featuring student and trainee research

Abstract submission is now closed.

  • Deadline to Submit an Abstract: November 28, 2023, at noon
  • Eligibility: Students and trainees associated with Winship-affiliated investigators are encouraged to submit an abstract for poster presentation when they register. All cancer-related abstracts submitted by eligible presenters will be invited to participate in the poster competition.
  • Submission Requirements: Abstracts should be text only (no figures or images please) and should fit on one page. Include the abstract title and the names and affiliations of each author, with the presenter’s name(s) in bold. 
  • Poster Dimensions: For the Emory poster boards the preferred poster printing size is 31.5 inches high by 56 inches wide.  The poster boards themselves are 4 ft high by 5 ft wide.
  • Poster Reception and Competition: The poster reception and competition will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 5 p.m. to  7 p.m., in the atrium of the Health Sciences Research Building II (HSRB II).
  • Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top-scoring poster presenters.
