Biography

Margaret A. Johns, PhD, is the Director of Research Projects for the Oncology Research Information Exchange (ORIEN) program at Winship Cancer Institute. In this role, Dr. Johns directs and oversees Winship activities as a member of the national ORIEN consortium, the world's largest cancer research biorepository and clinical database. She also serves as interim Technical Director for the Winship Cancer Tissue and Pathology Shared Resource where she interfaces with Winship investigators to enhance translational research activities utilizing patient molecular datasets.

Education

Dr. Johns received her PhD in Human Genetics and Molecular Biology from Johns Hopkins University. After obtaining her degree, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow in bioinformatics for Parke-Davis, and then a Senior Scientist in bioinformatics at Pfizer.
