The Data and Technology Applications Shared Resource provides Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University investigators with the latest in informatics and data management resources to support scientific research.
The goal of the Data and Technology Applications Shared Resource is to provide comprehensive and cutting-edge informatics support to investigators at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
Our team facilitates collaborative research by applying state-of-the-art technologies and methods to centralize the utilization and management of data in areas such as population-based research, translational science and clinical trials focused on cancer.
We support real-world data services using advanced and robust tools to collect, manage, store and disseminate data. We collaborate with Winship's research programs, other Winship shared resources, Emory Office of Information Technology and Emory University School of Medicine core facilities.
Our core's multi-pronged approach to addressing investigators' data management needs is critical to Winship's scientific mission.
As part of the Winship Molecular Profiling Initiative, we launched the Winship cBioPortal, a web-based resource that allows researchers to explore, visualize and analyze Winship cancer genomics data.
Our team facilitates clinicogenomic querying and insight by transforming cancer patients' multidimensional, complex molecular profiling data into easily accessible molecular profiles and clinical attributes. Data (genetic, gene expression, clinical, etc.) provided through the Winship cBioPortal are de-identified and can be utilized for feasibility analyses. More extensive molecular datasets with associated clinical data can be made available for research, if requested.

We also provide access to National Cancer Database files for solid and hematologic malignancies. This service is available to Winship members for research purposes, and is provided in collaboration with the Biostatistics Shared Resource.
