The Emory Integrated Metabolomics and Lipidomics Core provides analytical services using cutting-edge mass spectrometry methods to identify and quantify metabolites and lipids.
Overview
The Emory Integrated Metabolomics and Lipidomics Core performs quantitative lipidomics and targeted metabolomics analyses on samples from a wide range of biological matrices to support clinical and research efforts.
These analyses provide a deeper understanding of lipid mediators and soluble metabolites whose abundance can be monitored as biomarkers to predict and track the progression of various diseases, including metabolic disorders such as obesity, Type 2 diabetes and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, and certain cancers, including prostate and breast cancer.
The Emory Integrated Metabolomics and Lipodmics Core is supported by Emory Neuroscience NINDS Core Facilities, Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance and Emory University School of Medicine. It is subsidized by the Emory University School of Medicine and is one of the Emory Integrated Core Facilities.
