Biography Dr. Russell is an Emory alumnus, having completed her General Surgery Residency at Emory University, as well as a Research Fellowship in the Transplant Immunology Lab under the mentorship of Dr. Chris Larsen. Throughout her residency and fellowship training she received a variety of clinical and research awards, presented at national meetings, and co-authored numerous publications. After completion of her Surgical Oncology Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, she returns to the Department of Surgery as a faculty member with a specific focus on complex gastrointestinal malignancies and melanoma.
Clinical Specialties Dr. Russell's clinical specialties include:

Melanoma and metastatic melanoma
Tumors of the liver and biliary tract
Tumors of the pancreas
Tumors of the gallbladder
Metastatic tumors to the liver (colon, rectal, neuroendocrine, etc)
Tumors of the gastrointestinal tract (stomach, duodenum, small intestine, colon, rectum)
Neuroendocrine tumors
Tumors of the spleen
Research Focus Dr. Russell's research interests include:

Clinical investigation and outcomes analysis of patients with malignancies of the stomach, liver, pancreas, small intestine, and neuroendocrine tumors.
Examining effects of multimodality treatment in complex gastrointestinal malignancies including stomach, liver, bile duct, pancreas and intestinal tumors.
Clinical and translational research involving tumors of the skin and soft tissue.
